FREE JJ NOW!!

Greg and I were taking a little walk in the park, and you will never believe who we spotted!!  That's right ...  JJ "the" goose!  You can imagine our shock when we were told the poor little fellow would not be dumped, but brought back to the loving home he had left so trustingly.  Dumped in a sump!  How could such a thing happen?  I figure he must have been goosenappered by ruthless goosenappers, and then dumped to hide the evidence.  The terrible crime must have been kept from us because of threats from the goosenappers.  A vicious look-out-foster-mother-goose-type was hissing and chasing the poor little terrified creature and not allowing him to play in any goose games. His little black beak had huge tears running off of it and his little black feet were standing in a puddle of his own tears.  It was a heart-wrenching sight! Wait a minute .... black beak, black feet .... could it be .... are there really people that still harbor such hatred?  Could this be a hate crime?  I wanted to help, but there was a huge chain-link fence (probably electrified) surrounding the ghetto, with a menacing looking padlock and chain around the gate.  Outside the gate, and strategically placed around the goose ghetto were signs clearly stating, as you can read for yourself, that it was not permitted to dump unwanted fowl in this area.  But I guess if you're ruthless enough to nap a goose, (a black-beak-black-footed one at that) mere signs wouldn't deter you.  As there is a God in heaven, it is good to know that the guilty party will have to pay the price in the next life if not in this one.  Nonetheless, I have decided to start a "FREE JJ" campaign.  Someone has to stand up for the under-goose! If not me, who?  First they came for the kittens, and I thought, "I am not a kitten" and I did nothing.  Then they came for the puppies.  I was not a puppy, so I did nothing.  Then they came for the geese.  I thought, if I didn't stand up for the black-beaked-black-footed-goose there would be no one left to stand up when they came for me!  Who will join me in my fight for JJs freedom and basic goose rights?  As I walked away with big tears running down my cheeks, I thought I heard him say, "Please, don't forget me!  Save me from a fate they wouldn't give a dog.  I beg you!!!"  I slowly turned and looked into his red stinging eyes, and I vowed I would not rest until he was free.  I am working on remodeling the attic, and making my plans for his prison break, and future hideout. Free JJ!  Free JJ NOW!!  All donations to the cause will be gratefully accepted, and may be tax-deductible.  Wait a minute .... I think that "Barry" doesn't allow charitable donations anymore, especially for black-beaked-black-footed geese.  Ironic, isn't it?!

Why I LOVE Grandkids Living in the North Quarter!

Today while Grandma and I were sitting in the sunroom, we glanced out the window and saw this adorable sight:

Evie gives a big "thumbs up!"

Could this day be any better?!

While I'm blogging I may as well add that I'm sad not to be going to the family get-together after all.  I have been given the opportunity to go to UCLA for some seriously needed medical opinions.  The appointment is for this Monday, so that put a cramp in my plans.  I will sure miss seeing those who are attending.  Try not to have too much fun without me!  Grandma is still going and will be flying out with Sam and Michelle.

A Quick Followup

Just so you know,  no animals were harmed in the filming of the previous blog.  Goose is still quacking and Bunny is still doing whatever bunnies do.  Nothing like harmless and helpless animals to make kids feel powerful.  Thankfully, my little dears don't abuse their powers.  As we were bringing Mr. Goose (now known as JJ) home from the goose store in a box provided by said store, we noticed a very insightful add clearly posted on the side of box.  It read "Tasty treats your dog will love!"  We were grateful for the warning and Sophie and Maggie have not had play time with JJ and unnamed Bunny.

My First Homework Assignment

I had my first camera lesson from Sam.  These are a few of my favorite shots from my first homework assignment.  Can't wait until I can get back to Sam for a second lesson.  Tell me what you think.

I Feel Loved!!

Thank you all who responded!  If a picture shows up next to my text, that means I learned how to do it!  Is it there? If so, this is a pictures of us walking our dogs in the park.  A few weeks ago we had a family walk with Grandma, Greg and I, (I'm of course behind the camera) Molly and Scott, Sherod and Emily and the boys.  Of course Molly and Scott brought Rasta (sp.?) to hang out with Sophie and Maggie.  I tell you this lame story because I like the picture.  This may be an instance when a picture is not quite worth a 1,000 words.  Maybe 100 or so.

Guess what?

I know. You can't believe it's me!  Well, this is the situation.  If someone can teach me how to get pictures on my computer I will start blogging again.  This is the thing ....  I have nothing exciting or interesting to say.  The only way anyone would be interested in looking at my blog would be to have some fantastic pictures.  You know a picture is worth a thousand words.  I have recently come across a fantastic camera and found out that I LOVE taking pictures!  I would like to document the few, but exciting things there are in my life.  You know, the reason I look at all of your blogs are for the pictures.  Now I know the basic idea of getting pictures onto the blog, but for some reason it doesn't work on my computer.  That means, someone who lives in fairly close proximity to me will need to come to my house and solve the problem, or I will have to wait until I get somewhere in close proximity to other brains.  I am so technologically challenged that it is almost hopeless, but I throw it out there to see if there are any interested parties.  Just to let you know, I have a Mac.  The response will tell me if I am truly loved or not.  I am waiting on pins and needles!
